WHAT DO WE OFFER

DENTAL THERAPY

Dental therapy in 1959 was included in a single department in the entire System of Dentistry. The arrival of new lecturers: Dr. Zenel Kokomiri, Dr. Vasil Cakuli and Dr. Pano Lulo, caused the creation of the chair of “Dental Therapy” in 1964, directed until 1979 by Docent Xhevdet Asllani. From 1979 to the 2000s, this chair was directed by Prof. Pavli Kongo. After this year, this department was merged and functioned as a section directed by Prof. Pavli Kongo. From 2004, the Dental Therapy Service was directed by Prof. Diana Brovina and then by Prof. Born in Xemnica (Russia).

OMF AND PRECLINICAL SURGERY

The Department of Dental Surgery was established in 1964 and until 1989 was headed by Prof. Dhori Pojani. From 1989 to 2000, this chair was directed by Prof. Samedin Gjini. From the year 2000 until today, it was directed and continues to be directed by Prof. Ramazan Isufi. This department has operated based on two main directions:

Hospital Service within the framework of QSUT “Mother Teresa”

Outpatient service within the framework of the University Dental Clinic.

DENTAL ORTHOPEDICS

This service has its origins in 1959 in a joint chair. The subsequent directors of this chair have been: Professor Dhimitra Lira (1973-1976); Prof. Photo Toti (1976-2000); Prof. Ruzhdie Qafmolla (2000-2014). From 1964 until today, the following employees have been lecturers of this department: Docent Osman Hoxha, Dr. Pano Lulo, D.Shk. Dhimitra Lira, Associate Professor Budie Sina, Dr. Pandi Thano, Prof. Photo Toti, Prof. Asst. Hajrulla Muça, Prof. Ruzhdie Qafmolla, Dr. Beniamin Domi, Dr. Shk. Afërdita Basha, Prof. Fejzi Keraj, Prof. Vergjini Mulo, Prof. Asc. Edit Xhajanka, Dr. Shk. Koço Gjilo, Prof. Asc. Çeljana Toti, Dr. Shk. Gerta Kaçani, Dr. Shk. Kreshnik Keraj.

PRESENTATION OF THE FACULTY OF DENTAL MEDICINE

In 1959, next to the Faculty of Medicine, the Department of Dentistry was established. It was represented by three internal lecturers: Dr. Dhori Pojani, Dr. Osman Hoxha, Dr. Dhimitra Lira and some external lecturers: Dr. Xhevdet Asllani and Dr. Skender Topulli. In 1964, this branch was organized into three separate departments: the Department of Therapy, Surgery and Orthopedic Dentistry. The Chair of Dental Therapy, from 1964 to 1979, was headed by Doc. Xhevdet Asllani. Then from 1979 to 2000 it was directed by Prof. Pavli Kongo. The Chair of Surgery was initially directed by Prof. Dhori Pojani and then by Prof. Samedin Gjini. Since 2000, it has been directed by Prof. Ramadan Isufi. The Chair of Dental Orthopedics was headed by Doc. Osman Hoxha, then continued to be directed by Prof. Photo Toti and by Prof. Ruzhdie Qafmolla.
